Four Stops in Australia’s Northern Territory
Getting to the Northern territory was not a very easy feat. Our little campervan decided to break down somewhere between Townsville and Cloncurry which left us stranded on the side of the road for a few hours. However, I was determined to keep going. We somehow managed to get on a bus the next day to Mount Isa and get our bearings in order. From there, we got on another bus to Alice Springs instead of giving up and heading back home. Once in Alice Springs, we were able to collect a new and improved campervan. But anyway, you didn’t come here to read about that. You want to know…

Great Ocean Road Self-Drive Itinerary
Skip the overcrowded tour; a self-drive trip on Australia’s Great Ocean Road is a must. This 243 kilometer stretch of road is an Australian National Heritage spanning along the southeastern coast between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford. The road was built by return soldiers between 1919 and 1932, dedicated to soldiers killed during WWI and the world’s largest war memorial. However, most people visit the Great Ocean Road for its scenic and rugged coastline and natural wonders, the 12 Apostles and London Bridge. Check out this two-day self-drive itinerary complete with camping locations and driving times below. Our drive started in Melbourne in our bright yellow jeep. The…

Adelaide’s Wine Region with TrailHopper
The only reason, I’d probably ever come to Adelaide again… THE WINE. We booked two days of wine tours and it was the absolute best experience! It gave us a break from driving as we did our wine tours with TrailHopper. TrailHopper is a hop on hop off wine bus tour. They can either pick you up from Adelaide CBD (which is what we did) or within the specific wine region. And it’s super affordable. One day cost anywhere between $49-$69 AUD per person, depending on the region. We enjoyed two days of wine touring, one day in Barossa and the other in McLaren Vale. Both were amazing and very…

9 Reasons To Travel Right Now
I’ve been traveling full-time for 9 months now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve had the time to reflect back on my life and my travels thus far and I’ve learned a few things. I believe everyone at any point in their lives should travel. Travel as much as you can to as far as you can. Or even travel around your own state. Don’t be afraid to take that time off from work and go exploring. There is so much to be benefited from that. I’ve put together a list of 9 reasons to travel. If this doesn’t make you book a ticket…honestly, just book the…

10 Can’t Miss Sydney Experiences…That Isn’t the Beach
I had the pleasure of being able to call this beautiful city home for 2 ½ years. Although Sydney was such a change of pace for me from New York, I can look back now and truly appreciate all the experiences I’ve had whilst living there. There is so much to see and do in this wonderful city. While I’ll say the most ideal time to travel to Sydney would be in the summer and shoulder months (November – March), the city can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Stroll along the wharfs of Circular Quay while you enjoy the views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the…

The Best of Sydney Beaches
It is no secret that Sydney has some of the best beaches. Spread a towel and lie back, go for a swim between the yellow and red flag, or learn to surf. Here are some of my favourite beaches that you can’t miss on your visit to Sydney. Manly One of Sydney’s more famous beaches and a personal favourite of mine, there are many ways to get to Manly beach. You can either go by bus, ferry, or walking. Ferry Hop on the ferry from Circular Quay to the seaside suburb of Manly. With unbeatable views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, the ride takes about 30 minutes. The…

8 Can’t Miss Byron Bay Experiences
Byron Bay is one of my favorite stops on our Australian road trip. Can you blame me as there is so much to do in this popular beach town besides beaching it. Known for its hippie culture, Byron is filled with magic and natural beauty. A year round festival hub, Byron hosts two of Australia’s most popular music festivals – Byron Bluesfest (Easter weekend) and Splendor in the Grass (July) as well as the Byron Bay Writers Festival (August) and Byron Bay International Film Festival. If you love crystals and geodes of all shapes and sizes then you’re going to love Crystal Castle. It is home to the biggest and…

8 Epic Fraser Island Experiences
A prized World Heritage site, Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island located off the coast of Queensland. Not only is it spectacular because of its size, but it’s also the only place on Earth where tall rainforest grow on sand dunes at elevations of more than 200 meters and it has half of the world’s perched lakes (40 to be exact!). These are lakes that are formed when depression in dunes fill permanently with rainwater. For our visit to Fraser Island, we decided to go with a tour. We chose Pippies Beachhouse 3 Day/ 2 Night Fraser Island Tag- Along Tour. With that we were able to visit…

Whitsundays Island and Ride to Paradise
The Whitsundays is made up of 74 islands, most of which are uninhabited As we tried to maintain a backpacker lifestyle by eating tuna from a can and camping most places, Whitsundays Ride to Paradise was a luxury we allowed ourselves. And it was worth every penny. Whitsunday Island National Park is Australia’s premier destination for all travellers and we wanted to experience it in style. We decided to book a tour with Redcat Adventures called Ride to Paradise. While other tours to the Whitsundays are normally overnight, sleeping on a boat, this tour takes you to an all-inclusive luxurious beachfront resort. The resort is actually a millionaire’s holiday home…
